The Body Image & Therapy Training Program is tailored to assist therapists working in community mental health agencies in effectively addressing clients’ body image concerns. This training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively work with a diverse range of clients, spanning from children (aged 6-12 years), adolescents (aged 13-18 years), to transitional aged youth (aged 18-25 years), encompassing various genders and ethnic backgrounds. Through this program, therapists will receive clinical tools tailored to assist in treatment and will learn to integrate evidence-based interventions focused on addressing body image concerns. The agenda covers an array of topics, including an overview of body image issues (Neagu, 2015; Fardouly & Vartanian, 2016; Tylka & Wood-Barcalow, 2015), strategies for treatment and interventions to address body image concerns, as well as the provision of relevant resources for therapists.

This program, when attended in its entirety, offers 1.5 CEs for Psychologists, 1.5 IL CEUS for Counselors and Social Workers, or 1.5 BBS California CEUs for LPCCs, LPSW, and LMFTs.

This presentation aims to equip mental health providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver effective care to older adults in couples therapy. This presentation will establish foundational knowledge of lifespan development concepts, which encompass cognitive, socio-cultural, spiritual, career, family, and physical changes throughout life stages (Kuther, 2023; McGoldrick, Garcia Preto, & Carter, 2016; Parsons, Peluso, & Watts, 2013).
